Health And Safety Training
BJR Training specialises in bespoke Health and Safety training for your work place
As a Director, Owner, Manager or Committee Member of a Charity controlling an organisation you may be overwhelmed by the Legislation involved. The area of Health and Safety Management is often overshadowed by more pressing day to day issues, and in many cases a lack of awareness of the requirements of the relevant legislation.
The principal Act governing Health & Safety in the workplace is The Health & Safety At Work Etc. Act 1974 which provides for a safe place of work governing all Employers, Employees, Non Employees such as Children, Members of the Public, Contract Workers, Visitors and Maintenance Contractors.
The enforcing body is The Health & Safety Executive, whose Officers have wide ranging powers. Officers may serve improvement or prohibition notices which have far reaching consequences upon the offending organisation.
Breaching Health & Safety Law can be both a criminal and civil offence and upon summary conviction substantial fines may be payable and under certain circumstances imprisonment.
