BJR Training provides a First Aid course specifically for those working with children, childminders and staff working in pre-schools, nursery’s, out of school clubs and crèches etc.

This 12 hours course can be run over 2 days or 4 evening and is NVQ cross mapped to the following national standards:

  • NVQ Early Years Care and Education Level 2
  • NVQ Early Years Care and Education Level 3
  • NVQ Playwork Level 2
  • NVQ Playwork Level 3

This competency based course covers the following areas:

  • Priorities of Care
  • Incident Management
  • Baby Resuscitation, choking and recovery position
  • Child Resuscitation, choking and recovery position
  • Adult Resuscitation, choking and recovery position
  • Causes and treatment of unconsciousness
  • Blood Loss and Shock
  • Burns
  • Fractures

This is a very practical course and demands a lot of student participation.
Two Certificate are award – one is an A4 colour display certificate the other is a wallet size colour certificate in a plastic holder.
A 65 page set of course notes is supplied to each student.
